Guy Marshall grew up in Seacoast New Hampshire in the college town of Durham. He studied business at both Northeastern University and the University of New Hampshire. While still in college, he started a summer painting company. By his senior year he had employees working full-time year-round and was running jobs between classes and on nights and weekends. The company's focus included painting and decorating commercial properties as well as high-end residential properties along the New Hampshire coast and into southern Maine. As a separate division of the company, he founded Olde Towne Builders-building new homes, renovating existing properties, and operating rental properties in Seacoast New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

In the early 1990s Guy changed tack and went into the home-heating industry first as the operations manager of a multi-million-dollar company servicing 20,000 customers, and then, within a few years, as the owner-manager of his own company, Lamprey Energy. Some three years after taking over Lamprey Energy he also acquired Simply Green, a biofuel company, and became a leader in sustainable heating practices in the Seacoast New Hampshire region. In late 2018, he sold both companies to a friendly competitor and so began his early retirement.

Guy has summered in the Boothbay region on Southport Island for the past several years playing in the waters, swimming, sailing in a Boothbay One Design, and motoring in a restored 1960s Lyman. Winters provide great skiing at Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and the Camden Bowl. After the sale of his business, Guy moved to Maine permanently and now lives year-round on Southport where he has entrenched himself in the community, becoming a member of the Boothbay Chamber of Commerce, The Opera House, The Harbor Theater, Botanical Gardens, Southport Yacht Club, YMCA, Chocolate Church in Bath. Guy is a firm believer in giving back to the community.

Guy worked with an Educational Greenhouse Company to design and build a 40ft x 65ft Greenhouse at the North Hampton, NH, Central School. The structure provided a hands-on classroom environment for K through 8th grade. Guy led the fundraising, attracting both corporate and private donations; he also led the construction of the greenhouse, which incorporated in-kind donations from local contractors and suppliers. The Greenhouse-and first year's operating budget-was presented to the school at no cost.

Guy has three daughters, Emily, Hannah, and Eleanor, who live in Rockport, York, and Southport, Maine. Never one to sit still and with an experienced passion for buildings and real
